Please ensure your Kid's iPads are in Guided Access mode. Each day take a look at the screen and if the Daytona logo is shown across the screen, the iPad is not in Guided Access mode. Launch Safari and then press the home button 3 times, and enter the passcode if requested to enable Guided Access mode.
What is Guided Access mode:
Guided Access is a mode in which the iPad is locked to one screen or application (ex. Safari). When in this mode, repeatedly typing in passcodes does not disable the iPad and therefore does not lock us out of it.
When the iPad first turns on, and our 6 digit passcode is entered, the iPad is fully functional which means someone (ex. a child) could do almost whatever they want to it and change the password and lock us out of it. Enabling Guided Access mode prevents this.
How to put the kid's iPad in Guided Access mode:
1) If prompted for a passcode to unlock the iPad, type that in.
2) Open Safari browser.
3) Press the Home button three times somewhat quickly. A message should appear in the middle of the screen indicating the iPad is now in Guided Access mode. Now the only application that works is Safari.
If you try to get out of Guided Access mode and/or try to input the wrong password many times, it does not lock us out of the iPad.
How to exit Guided Access mode:
To exit Guided Access (such as to allow an iPad update to be applied), press the home button 3 times, type in our 6 digit passcode, and press END in the upper corner of the screen.
