ANDROID: Forticlient VPN and FileExplorer setup

You will need to download the following apps from the app store/Play Store:
  • FortiClient VPN
  • FE File Explorer (the orange one is the free version - developer name should be “Skyjos Co.”)
       
One-time setup FortiClient VPN for Android
  1. Open the FortiClient VPN app
  2. Tap ‘+ New VPN’ at the bottom of the screen
    1. VPN Name: Tacada VPN
    2. VPN Type: SSL VPN
    3. Tap ‘Create’
    4. Server: daytonahomes-edm.fortiddns.com
    5. Port: 4434
    6. Username: <your company email address WITHOUT “@tacada.ca” or "@daytonahomes.ca"> (ie. “ango”, not “ango@tacada.ca”)
    7. You can leave the rest default, tap the back arrow in the top left to save

One-time setup FE File Explorer setup for Android
  1. Open the FE File Explorer app
  2. Tap the ‘+’ in the top right corner
  3. Tap ‘Windows
    1. Display Name: S Drive
    2. Host Name/IP: dh-file1/daytonadata
    3. Port: 445 (default)
    4. Connect As Username: <your company email address>
    5. Connect As Password: <your company email password>
  4. Tap the Save/Floppy Disk icon in the top right to save the connection
 
 
Connecting once the apps are set up
  1. Open FortiClient VPN
  2. Tap on the connection we created (Tacada VPN) and tap Connect.
  3. Enter your email password when prompted.
  4. Press the Home button to exit the app once you’re connected. There should be an icon in your notification bar indicating that you are connected to the VPN:
  5. Once VPN is connected, open the File Explorer app, tap the S Drive connection and it should load up after a few seconds.
