iPhone/iPad: Forticlient VPN and FileExplorer setup

Download the following two apps from your device's app store


One-time setup for Forticlient VPN

  1. Once installed, open the FortiClient app and choose 'Connections' and then 'Add a connection'. 
  2. The connection information to input is shown below:
  • Name: Tacada VPN
  • Host: daytonahomes-edm.fortiddns.com
  • Port: 4434
  • User: <your company email address WITHOUT "@tacada.ca", "@daytonahomes.ca", etc.> (ie. "ango", not "ango@daytonahomes.ca)
  • Tap Hide invalid certificate warning to slide it to green (IF you see it - it's not in newer versions of Forticlient)
  • Tap Save to save the connection

One-time setup for FileExplorer

  1. Open the FileExplorer app
  2. Tap the '+' in the top left corner and then tap 'Windows'
  3. Enter the following information:
    • Display Name: S Drive
    • Host Name/IP: dh-file1/daytonadata (screenshot below has different info, use this "dh-file1/daytonadata")
    • User Name: <your full company email address> (ie. ango@tacada.ca)
    • Password: <your email password>
    • Leave everything else as it is
  4. Tap Save to save the connection

Connecting once the apps are set up

  1. Open Forticlient
  2. Tap the VPN slider to connect to the VPN
  3. Enter your email password when prompted
    • You'll see this VPN icon at the top of your screen while you're connected to the VPN 
  4. Go to your home screen and open the FileExplorer app
  5. Tap on the S Drive connection we made earlier and it should connect you to the S drive after loading for a few seconds
